Yaz Lawsuit Settlements Update

Bayer has settled nearly 1,500 cases in which women who took the birth control drugs Yaz and Yasmin and developed blood clots. Specifically, the cases Bayer is settling are ones in which the women suffered a blood clot that forms inside a vein, known as a deep vein thrombosis or DVT. DVTs usually start in the lower leg or thigh.

Bayer is also settling cases in which women developed a pulmonary embolism. These are clots which have often broken loose from clots in the leg or thigh – and traveled to the lungs, where they can be life-threatening.

Lieff Cabraser represents nearly 150 women nationwide who have suffered serious injuries due to Yaz or Yasmin, and their generics Ocella and Gianvi. We also represent parents whose daughters died while taking Yaz in several high-profile cases against Bayer. To date, we have reached confidential settlements with Bayer on behalf of many of our clients.
